Mark Hahn - Deacon

Mark grew up in Germantown Hills and has one younger sister.  He graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL, in 1996, and then from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago in 2000; now he works as an Optometrist in Washington, IL.  Mark grew up in the church and acknowledged Christ as Lord of his life in 1989.  He and his wife, Michelle, were married in 2002 and now live in Washington with their three children:  Elizabeth, Evan, and Amelia.  Mark enjoys spending time with his family and friends, woodworking, cooking, playing the piano, and gardening.

Ministry close to your heart?
Open Hearts Open Homes—our church’s orphan care ministry—is close to Mark’s heart as two children were added to his family through adoption.  Mark and Michelle have been care group leaders for a number of years and enjoy building relationships with other members of the church body through the care group ministry.  Mark also is one of deacons involved with the benevolence ministry at BCC and he has been blessed by watching this ministry help meet needs that arise within the church.
